TKRN: Vol. 02

The SEC Blows It, BRICS, and a rare 10/10 in cringe.

Turnkey Retirement Newsletter: Volume 2

I sure would like to have eased into this new year, but the world does not slow down.

If you are feeling anxious about the economy with the end of the month approaching, remember this:

You control your own economy. Nobody else does.

It’s week 4 of 52.

Let’s dive in.

The SEC should investigate…itself.

With all the hype surrounding the Bitcoin ETF approval, Bitcoiners and investors alike were just waiting for the announcement to drop.

And it did…just via a hacker from their Twitter (X) account.

I wonder what fines they will impose on themselves as they have while dealing with others in similar instances.

Hopefully, people’s hard-earned money wasn’t impacted due to this massive and somewhat reckless mistake.

Where is my red stapler?

“A staggering 19.6% of office space in major U.S cities wasn't leased as of the fourth quarter. Up from 18.8% a year earlier” (WSJ)

If you are considering commercial office space as an investment, the Wall Street Journal article above may be of some value as to where the workforce is headed.

If WeWork wasn’t already an indicator…

Quick Reminder:

If you are thinking about investing with family, remember the horizontal and vertical rules of lineage.

Investing with horizontal lineage is ok.
(cousin, aunt, uncle, brother, sister, etc).

Investing with vertical lineage is not allowed.
(GP, Parents, Children, Grandchildren)

The Clown World of Finance 🤡

True wealth is not defined by monetary standards, but rather in the quality of our relationships as well.

We only have our children for a short period of time.

If you aren’t the ones influencing them, someone or something else will.

My guidance here would be based on “What do I want my family to say about me as a father by the time they leave the house”. Then back into those behaviors to ensure you get the results you want.

Feel Good Moment in 2023: That I Saw in 2024.

The Closing Word

In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work, we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.” Acts 20: 32-35

As we are on our financial journeys, remember the opportunity we have to bless others around us this year.

And it feels a lot better than being a Scrooge.

Best,

Parker Pursell
